We’ve written before about Jojo’s Cafe in Osoyoos and once again we were very happy to have made the short trip across the border. You never know what you’re going to experience at open mic affairs, but last evening was especially enjoyable.

High School student Sadi Bleiken carried her father’s guitar to the “stage” and delivered two extremely well done songs, the second, a Celtic refrain, was done a capella. Caught off guard we barely had time to get a camera rolling to capture these presentations so I hope Sadi appears again when we’re better prepared.

My wife Nancy and I had a make-up date to go to Osoyoos, BC for dinner because she was down with the flu on the day of our anniversary. We did that last evening and stopped into jojo’s café. Alas, we were too late for a meal but did enjoy some of the delicious pastries and a glass of wine. We stuck around because it happened to be entertainment night and our friends Chris Stodola and Rick Braman were the presenting musicians. We did an article on their performance at Esther Bricques Winery in Oroville a few days ago, and tonight the artistry continued, brilliantly. The second treat came in the person of Sharon Leonard who was there to represent her beautiful paintings that adorned the cafe walls. Sharon is a delightful, twinkle-in-the-eye person who loves art, loves painting, and thoroughly enjoys sharing her experiences through teaching.
